About the Author, Megan Ricciardi

I am passionate about Moon Dream because I have often been told that I can't do something because I am too small or it's too dangerous or difficult for a girl. I travelled by myself, built houses, fixed cars, had jobs where I am one of only a couple females, and so many more things that are "just for boys" and I have had many amazing female teachers along the way.

I want little girls to know that if there is anything they want to do, they can. I wrote this story because I hope to inspire children to be whatever they want to be. We all will face challenges, get scared, and people will hold us back, but I know that if you set your mind to it, you can do anything.

I travelled for a few years and spent a lot of time sleeping under the stars looking up at the moon. This story was always going through my head while I laid in my sleeping bag at night and I finally decided it was time to write it down. It sat written for a long time while I continued to travel until I settled down in Australia where I met Anna, from Germany, who offered to do the illustrations. The book finally came to life and I hope that it inspires children and adults to follow their dreams, no matter how big or small.

Along with writing children's books, I own and operate Airy Fairy, LLC, a dome building company that teaches people to build their own homes.

I currently live in the United States, and still love to travel and dream big.
